Born in Belgium and based in Oregon, Bram is the founder and CEO of The National Parks Experience.

Ever since moving to the United States, he has been passionate about America's national parks, forests, and other public lands. Bram is an avid landscape photographer, wildlife enthusiast, as well as an experienced hiker and cyclist.

His love for U.S. national parks keeps bringing him to some of the nation's most spectacular places, where he enjoys camping, stargazing, exploring trails, and immersing himself in the great outdoors in a multitude of ways.

Bram is an expert on all things related to America's national parks and is on a mission to visit all National Park Service sites. He documents this fascinating and incredibly fulfilling journey on this website.

June in Death Valley National Park Was Never As Hot As It Was This Year

Never before was the month of June as hot as it was this year in Death Valley National Park. After a record-shattering summer last year, Death Valley National Park already broke some of its own heat records in June this year. Death Valley’s average day/night temperature was 102.9°F (39.4°C) in June 2021, beating the previous record by 1.1°F (0.6°C).

Glacier National Park’s Going-to-the-Sun Road Sees 41% More Vehicle Traffic on Opening Day Than 2019

The famous Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park reopened to vehicle traffic on June 25 and immediately saw a spike in visitation compared with 2019. According to a NPS press release, preliminary data shows a 41% increase in the number of vehicles on the Going-to-the-Sun Road over opening day in 2019.

National Park Visitor Spending Supported 234,000 Jobs During Pandemic in 2020

The National Park Service announced in a new report that, in 2020, visitors to national parks contributed $28.6 billion to the U.S. economy. This visitor spending, much of which was during the COVID-19 pandemic, helped support no fewer than 234,000 jobs, most of them in communities surrounding parks.
