In fact, along with lingonberries, blueberries are one of the most common berries in Denali National Park. They typically ripen as early as mid-August and continue ripening well into September at various locations across the vast Denali National Park tundra.
Picking blueberries at Denali is permitted for personal consumption, but you don’t need to travel all the way to Alaska to enjoy a delicious Denali National Park-inspired blueberry cobbler.

- 9 x 13 inch baking dish
- 1 medium and 1 large mixing bowl
- 1 silicone mixing spatula
- Teaspoons and tablespoon
- Measuring cup
Blueberry Cobbler Ingredients
Blueberry Layer
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Batter Layer
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- Ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine blueberries, granulated sugar, lemon zest and vanilla extract in the medium bowl.
- Combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt in the large bowl. Add the milk and stir until a batter has formed.
- Divide the 6 tablespoons of butter across the 9 x 13 baking dish. Put the baking dish in the oven as it heats up. Take the dish out of the oven when the butter is melted.
- Add the blueberry mixture to the baking dish, over the melted butter.
- Pour the batter over the blueberries, as evenly as possible. Generously sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40-45 minutes or until the top his light golden brown. Your Denali blueberry cobbler is done when a toothpick comes out clean.
- Serve warm and topped with vanilla ice cream.
