Below the surface of rural Kentucky lies Mammoth Cave, the world’s most extensive known cave system. There’s a lot of history—both human and natural—at this place.

The centerpiece and namesake of Mammoth Cave National Park, Mammoth Cave is a collection of linked cave systems, encompassing more than 400 miles of known subterranean passageways, halls and tunnels. No other cave in the world comes even close to that massive size.

In addition to guided cave tours, this UNESCO World Heritage-listed national park also offers great hiking and camping.
