Centered on Mount Rainier, the most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and an active volcano, Mount Rainier National Park is spectacular in every sense of the word.
From numerous huge glaciers and alpine lakes to wildflower-covered meadows, roaring waterfalls and old-growth forests, it’s a gorgeous park.
Located just a couple of hours south of Seattle, the park consists of four main areas: Longmire, Paradise, Sunrise and Ohanapecosh, all of which feature their own natural attractions and wonderful hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities.
